Meet Ivory Black


Ivory Black retired from Richmond State Supportive Living Center after 31 years of dedicated service. She is now employed as a front office receptionist at O’Donnell Middle School in the Alief Independent School District. Ivory has performed with “The Bridge Players” at Southwest “The Bridge” for over 20 years. She also has been with The Uniques Drama Group since 1990 playing various characters such as: Big Mama, Sadie, Daisy, Edy and Thelma, typically the sassy elderly lady and the glue that holds the family together. Ivory has performed with The Upperroom Theater, 2 Hearts Connection, Healing Hearts Network, and D’Lyric Inspired Productions.

When on stage Ivory brings unity, love, and Christian resolution to her family and friends, she is best known for spectacular comic relief audiences have come to love! Ivory is the mother of three wonderful children and the grandmother to six amazing grandchildren.

Tonight Ivory’s performance is dedicated to the memory her delated mother Leola Thompson.
