Barbara Starkes
Playwright, Actor and Director.
In 2018 she wrote and directed the stage play Matters of the Heart which was nominated for three awards by Broadway World Houston (Best Stage Play, Best New Stage Play and Best Actor – Terrance Mays). Barbara was a judge for the 2017 Houston Monologue Slam. She was a finalist for her short play Perceptions for the Fade to Black Festival 2017 Reading Series. She was an actor (Karen) in Life, Love and Boobs in the June 2017 Fade to Black Play performance series. She returned as an actor (Lollie) in Line Dry for the 2018 Fade to Black reading series.
She has written seven plays; Christmas Miracles (2006), Miracle Birth (2009), Talk to Me (2011), Let The Church be The Church (2013), Girls Night Out - A Twist of Faith (2015), Matters of the Heart (2018) and The Perfect Marriage (2019). She is a Board Member of Scriptwriters-Houston.
Dorian Watson
Recording Artist, Author, Speaker
Houston native, Dorian Watson, is a recording artist, the author of Let’s Talk It Out and a speaker to all. The message in her songs and books resonate with those in love, in pain and in search of their true authentic self. She is a mother of two teenagers and set to release her debut album and second book Summer 2019 under her brand "iamdorian".
Dorian will appear in the HHN TPM play performing songs from other artists and original music from her current CD.
Allegra Everson-Edwards
Allegra Everson-Edwards "aka" Allegra The Actress is a native from Baton Rouge La, who now resides in Houston Texas since 2000. Allegra graced the stage in 2015 with her first co-starring lead role as Marsha in E.T. (Evangelistic Triumph) To Hell and Back. From there she has been acting in Productions from The Bridge Players Drama ministry, Black Lockett Productions, and D'Lyric Productions as well as acting in comedic skits, short films and parodies with the Houston Film House.
From early childhood Allegra has always had an interest in pursuing acting and was known for being a drama queen in a good way. Allegra also enjoys singing, songwriting, and producing music. Allegra has been married for 8 beautiful years to Broderick Edwards, who supports and encourages her in the acting world and in life.
Allegra's appreciation goes to God for giving her the gift, her husband for love and encouragement and her family and friends for ongoing support.
Monique Yvonne Locke
Monique Locke is a medical biller and coder and accounting student. She began acting in high school with the Unique's Drama Group as well as in her church with "The Bridge Players".
Monique is an active member at The Bridge where she is an announcement clerk and a matron in the children's choir. Her interests include writing poetry, crafting, party planning and reading. This performance is dedicated to her three beautiful children, Jason, Joshua and Jordan as well as her boyfriend, Jared, who is currently deployed in Kuwait.
Regina Locke
Regina Locke made her acting debut with The Unique Drama Group in 2011 and fell in love with the theater ever since. She went on to act and direct in productions with the Upper Room Theatre, 2 Hearts Connection, Healing Hearts Network and D'Lyric Inspired Productions.
Regina is a member of Southwest Christian Community Center "The Bridge" and has been with "The Bridge Players" for eight years, where she served as the Director, acting, writing and directing for various productions. She recently starred in a James Hudson and Showtime production of "Color Blind". She is the Board member for Scriptwriters - Houston. Regina is also c0-founder of an entertainment company, Black Locket Creations and Productions. She is a proud mother of two Monique and Gregory, as well as a grandmother of Jason, Joshua and Jordan. She is engaged to be married to Donald Griggs. Regina is dedicating her performance to her very suppportive fiance', family and friends.
Calvin Menephee
Calvin Menephee, a Houston native, is very excited to be portraying the part of Darryl in this production of “The Perfect Marriage”. Calvin has appeared in movies such as “Friday Night Lights”, “Paradise Texas”, and “The American Dream”, that was released through Warner Bros. Although he loves acting, Calvin is a fulltime father, and if you ask him, a 5 star chef too. Get to know Calvin; he’s an all-around guy with lots of surprises under his belt.
Paul Miles
Paul and his wife Sheretta are blessed with four beautiful children and of six wonderful grandchildren. He has been acting and singing since the age of 8. He attended Wheatley High School and under the guidance of Mr. Harold Haynes, in 1986 he advanced to UIL one act play state finals in Austin. He went on to become an original cast member in a play written by Mr. Haynes which was published in 1987. Paul has performed at the Wortham Theater Center, Ensemble, Miller Outdoor Theatre, The Upper Room Theatre, and D’Lyric Inspired Productions , BlackLocket Productions and many other acting companies.
He is a firm believer that only what you do for Christ will last. Paul dedicates his performance to loving wife and supportive family.
Ivory Black
Ivory Black retired from Richmond State Supportive Living Center after 31 years of dedicated service. She is now employed as a front office receptionist at O’Donnell Middle School in the Alief Independent School District. Ivory has performed with “The Bridge Players” at Southwest “The Bridge” for over 20 years. She also has been with The Uniques Drama Group since 1990 playing various characters such as: Big Mama, Sadie, Daisy, Edy and Thelma, typically the sassy elderly lady and the glue that holds the family together. Ivory has performed with The Upperroom Theater, 2 Hearts Connection, Healing Hearts Network, and D’Lyric Inspired Productions. When on stage Ivory brings unity, love, and Christian resolution to her family and friends, she is best known for spectacular comic relief audiences have come to love! Ivory is the mother of three wonderful children and the grandmother to six amazing grandchildren.
Tonight Ivory’s performance is dedicated to the memory her delated mother Leola Thompson.
Terrance Wayne Mays
Terrance comes to us as the character, Richard. He is a graduate of Texas Southern University where he studied Radio, TV, Film and Speech Communications after attending high school at Paseo Academy of Fine & Performing Arts in Kansas City Missouri. He has portrayed characters in independent film and theater productions such as the Wiz, Blood Money, The Red Pump Murder, Matters of the Heart, Behind Closed Doors, the Soldier’s Wife, Shabach Enterprise’s A Fly in the Windshield, and Ensemble Theatre’s Just a Little Love. Recently, he was nominated for two categories in the 2018 BroadwayWorld Houston Awards. Terrance Mays looks forward to growth as an actor on both the stage and screen. He is honored to be among such a stellar cast for The Perfect Marriage and hopes to really reach people in this compelling story.

Rashad Jones
Being a strong believer in entrepreneurship, Rashad is a life coach, personal stylist, motivational speaker and published author. He’s constantly seeking opportunities to learn and grow in ways that will help perfect his crafts. After many years of sharing his natural gifts to sing, dance, and act with the secular world, he began to devote his life and represent those gifts back to God in the summer of 2010 and has not turned back.
Fully immersed in doing great works for God, Rashad continues to push himself to be better and better. As a member at The Bridge Church for nine years, he currently holds two director positions as the young adult choir director and praise dance ministries director; while still supporting other ministries when he can. He considers his work for his church to be training and preparation for the future success of his business endeavors.
As a Psychology major, he plans to continue school until he achieves a Master’s in Spiritual Psychology. This degree will be instrumental for his dream of opening a private practice, as well as a non-profit organization both dedicated to helping others on their spiritual journey of self-improvement and world class leadership. Rashad is a millennial on a mission.
