National Walking Day

April 1, 2020

What is National Walking Day?

National Walking Day is every year on the first Wednesday in April. National Walking Day is exactly as it sounds – a day to celebrate the easiest way to be the healthiest version of you. Walking for thirty to sixty minutes per day may sound like it isn’t much, but studies have shown that it can drastically improve your health and even help prevent ailments such as type II diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.

Healing Hearts Network supports this cause each year by sponsoring a Fitness and Fun walk at McClendon Park on March 28, 2020.  We invite the Houston community to join us for this great opportunity for fitness and a fun day in the park.

April kicks off National Walking Day

This year, National Walking Day has been expanded to a month-long initiative to Move More in April as part of our Healthy For Good™ movement.

Thank you! You've participated in the American Heart Association's National Walking Day celebrations in the past. With your help we've encouraged millions of Americans to take simple steps toward a healthier lifestyle. This year, National Walking Day has been expanded to a month-long initiative to Move More in April as part of our Healthy For Good™ movement.

Healthy For Good is designed to inspire all Americans to be healthier lives and create lasting change. The approach is simple: Eat smart. Add color. Move more. Be well.

We'll help you get your workplace, community, school or family moving with fun events, challenges and education throughout the month of April. The digital toolkit is now available online -- you can sign up quickly and easily for access.
